A surprise engagement?! I'm in!!
Savannah in the spring is gorgeous and when paired with a beautiful afternoon, you have the makings of a great day for a proposal. The day didn't start out all amazing though. I received an email from Chris the day before the proposal saying that the weather channel was now predicting 60% of rain!! No!! A photographers worst nightmare is dealing with a thunderstorm in the middle of what is supposed to be a lovely and special occasion. However, the weather in the south is also very unpredictable so I don't think anyone really 100% knows what is going to happen. We both decided that we would have to make the final decision the day of.
All day long I was refreshing my web browser checking to make sure we were in the clear. I almost felt like I was the one proposing! ha! It did rain a little during the day but we were so lucky when it all cleared out and was BEAUTIFULLY SUNNY and BREEZY. I was standing, ready to go and waiting for the couple to make their way to Lafayette Square. I was "taking head-shots" for a friend of mine while the couple were walking through the square. Chris was perfect and hit his spot. He was carrying the ring in his sock the whole time! ha!! Becky said she had an inkling that something was going on when Chris said that he had a "rock" in his shoe. ;)
I'm so happy that everything worked out and the weather decided to behave!
Congratulations to Chris and Becky!!
