This shoot was inspired mostly by the fields and marsh that I drive through to get home everyday. The high grass and the lovely sun setting through the trees helped to bring the shoot together in my mind. The scenery brought the idea to mind for a lovely, warm and hippie inspired shoot. The dress is made by Daughters of Simone and borrowed from Ivory & Beau. This dress definitely brings the bohemian feel to fruition. I love the off shoulder sleeve and the beautiful lace that is part of this dress. The flower crown from Urban Poppy brings the entire look together. The lovely flowers and succulents help to tie the field and the boho/hippie feel all together.
The location in Statesboro, GA with the lovely light, the flowers in the field, the trees and the flowing breeze all helped to make the bohemian/hippie/care-free feeling more obvious. Statesboro is a great location for rustic inspired photos because it is littered with barns, open fields and barrel of hay. It was amazing to work with Emily Fogarty of The Style Hunter again. Emily is a great addition to my shoots because she has great style and great attention to detail. She understood the look that I was trying to achieve with the shoot without me saying too much. She helped to keep the model's hair easy with curling it with her natural curl and wave. She kept the model's make-up very natural looking keeping the hippie theme tied in. The entire time I was shooting, I could hear The Beatles, Cream and, yes, The Lumineers in the back of my mind. "When we were younger we thought, everyone was on our side. Then we grew a little and romanticized the time I saw flowers in your hair." - The Lumineers.
From Emily Fogarty (The Style Hunter): "When I was first approached by Marianne to be a part of another shoot to style, I was immediately on board! She always has the most grand ideas, that turn out gorgeous through her eyes. (I should know, she makes me look way more fabulous on my blog through her lenses!) She informed me that the shoot was going to be in a field, with this perfect bohemian wedding gown that I fell in love with. I wanted to keep the hair and makeup like she woke up like that. Almost baby-faced and just glowing. Once I saw that flower crown, I was beyond excited, and knew that loose waves were the way to go. The images came out so gorgeous and I am obsessed with the shots where the sunlight is just peeking over the trees. It really got to a very Woodstock wedding
moment that I think was more than I expected."
