Spring in Savannah is pure magic—azaleas in full bloom, live oaks draped in Spanish moss, and golden light that seems made for photography. I recently had the joy of capturing a maternity session for Cayla and Patrick that perfectly showcased all that downtown Savannah has to offer during this beautiful season.
We started the session in Chatham Square, a quieter spot nestled between historic homes and shaded walkways. The soft morning light filtered through the mossy oaks as Cayla and Patrick strolled hand in hand, her flowing dress catching the breeze with each step. This square always feels like a hidden gem—peaceful, intimate, and full of character.
Next, we walked over to the corner of Barnard and Jones Street, which happens to feature one of my absolute favorite homes in all of Savannah. The stately architecture and greenery offered the perfect backdrop for portraits that felt both timeless and uniquely Southern. It’s the kind of setting that makes you pause and soak it all in—Savannah charm at its finest.
Our third stop was Monterey Square, home to some of the most iconic views in the city. With its lush landscaping and historic surroundings, it gave a classic and elegant feel to Cayla’s portraits. Every corner here is camera-ready, and we took full advantage.
We wrapped up the session in Forsyth Park, where Cayla and Patrick’s dogs joined in on the fun. If you know me, you know I love when pets are included in photo sessions—and these two pups were full of personality. The park was glowing in the late afternoon light, and the combination of blooming flowers, playful pups, and joyful anticipation made for a picture-perfect ending.
Maternity sessions like this one are a dream—natural, emotional, and rooted in the beauty of Savannah. Cayla and Patrick, thank you for letting me be a part of such a special season in your life.
