John Henry and Mabel’s wedding day was truly perfect from start to finish, and one I’ll always hold close to my heart. This wedding was especially meaningful to me because just one year earlier, I had the honor of photographing Mabel’s older sister Mary Price’s wedding. There is nothing I love more than getting to spend wedding days with families who welcome me in and treat me like one of their own—it makes the entire experience that much more special.
John Henry and Mabel both got ready and were married at Independent Presbyterian Church in downtown Savannah, one of the city’s most timeless and beautiful ceremony locations. The church’s historic architecture and peaceful courtyard made the perfect backdrop for their wedding day. After the ceremony, we took portraits in the church courtyard and nearby Chippewa Square, capturing classic Savannah charm with towering oak trees, brick walkways, and soft winter light.
Their January wedding day in Savannah could not have been better—and I’ll say it loud for the people in the back: I wish more couples got married in January! Cooler temperatures, fewer crowds downtown, blooming camellias, greenery still filling the city, and absolutely no bugs make it one of the most underrated months to say “I do” in Savannah.
The celebration continued at the Savannah Golf Club, where over 400 guests gathered to dance the night away. The energy in the room was incredible, and it was the perfect setting for such a joyful, fun-loving crowd. From heartfelt moments with family to a packed dance floor, their reception was unforgettable.
