When Is the Best Time to Take Maternity Photos? (+ Stunning Savannah Location Ideas)
One of the most common questions I get from expecting parents is: “When should we schedule our maternity photos?”
The best time to take maternity photos is typically between 30 and 36 weeks. During this window, your baby bump is beautifully round, but you’re still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the experience. Every pregnancy is unique, though, so if you're feeling great later (or showing early), we can adjust to what works best for you!
Gorgeous Locations for Your Maternity Session in Savannah
Savannah is full of dreamy spots that are perfect for capturing the beauty of your pregnancy. Whether you want something beachy, historic, or intimate, here are some of my favorite places for maternity photos:
🌿 At Home – There’s something incredibly special about photographing you in the space where your journey into parenthood began. Your home is personal, cozy, and full of little details that reflect your story.
🏝️ Tybee Island – If you're craving soft sand, golden sunsets, and the peaceful sound of waves, Tybee is a perfect spot. Sunset sessions on the beach are always magical.
🌳 Bluff Drive in Isle of Hope – This quiet, Spanish moss-lined road along the water is one of Savannah’s hidden gems. It’s romantic, peaceful, and full of Southern charm.
🏛️ Historic Downtown Savannah – With cobblestone streets, blooming squares, and ivy-covered walls, downtown Savannah offers timeless backdrops around every corner. Chatham Square, Monterey Square, and Forsyth Park are some of my top picks.
No matter where we go, the goal is to celebrate this incredible season of life in a way that feels true to you.
